Bronzer collection

Hi :)

I loved sharing with you guys my palette collection so I thought I would do the same with another one of my favourite make up products, bronzers! I love bronzers and contouring, especially in the summer.

I am currently using the Sleek contour kit in the shade light. I love how the bronzer is matt as most bronzers now are shimmery or glittery. I don't use the highlight in this kit but that's because I don't use highlighter in general. I love this kit because it is very light and compact so it is great for travelling as well as the fact that the product is amazing at its job! It gives me a natural bronzed look which I am currently loving, especially as it is now summer.

The Bourjois delice de soleil bronzing powder is also amazing. I think this bronzer has much better packaging compared to the other bronzer from Bourjois which everyone raves about on the internet as it is made of plastic as well as the fact that it has a mirror, which makes it great for travelling.

The Too Faced chocolate soleil bronzer is a matt brown which is slightly lighter than the Sleek bronzer. It is more expensive than the Bourjois and Sleek bronzers I have just mentioned, however it gives you a lovely natural bronzed look and I think it was worth the money. If you are on a budget, I would recommend the Sleek bronzer as they are really similar.

I also own the HD brows bronzer. I found this in the Factory Shop's make up section and I bought it for a bargain price of £5! It comes with a mirror and a sponge. I think the mirror is really useful for travel however I don't use the sponge as I prefer to use a brush to apply bronzer.

I bought the Elf blush and bronzer in the shade Turks and Caicos from the Elf store in Cardiff last year. I find this duo to be too shimmery for me as I prefer matt bronzers. However the product itself is really good especially for the cheap price of £3.95! I also love the packaging which is a dupe for Nars packaging. I really want to try other shades as I have heard that one of the shades is a dupe for Nars Laguna bronzer and Nars Orgasm blush.

The last bronzer which I own is a sample size of Benefit Hoola bronzer. I love this bronzer as it is matt and a good shade for in the winter when my skin is pale. When this runs out I may have to go and buy the full size even though it is a lot more expensive compared to the Sleek and Bourjois bronzers.

I hope you liked this post! I would love to know any recommendations you have for other bronzers which you love. I am thinking about buying the Soap and Glory bronzer as well as the Body Shop bronzer as many people have recommended them both to me. If there are any other make up products which you would like me to show you my collection of, let me know in the comments below or tweet me @makingufeelbest .

Top 5 Nail Polishes

Hi :)

Now that it is the summer holidays, I am finally able to paint my nails. And even though I hate painting my nails and find it so time-consuming, I love having my nails bright, interesting colours. I thought I would share with you my current top 5 nail polishes and the reasons for why I like them.

1. Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint
I love the formulation of these nail polishes as they last for days without chipping as well as being really opaque and only needing two coats to get a good colour. I have the nail polish in 4 shades; Huckleberry, Elderberry, Papaya and Rose hip.

2. Model's Own Hedkandi
I love Model's Own nail polishes in general but I adore the Hedkandi range. I like them because they are all really bright and vibrant. I have the nail polish in the colour Beach Party and I think it was about £5. I love this shade especially for in the summer when I can wear bright colours as I don't need to worry about them being too noticeable as I am not at school.

3. Rimmel Salon Pro
I have one of these nail polishes in the colour Peppermint and I received it free in a 3 for 2 deal at Boots. I love the brush on this nail polish because it isn't like the usual brushes, it is wider so it covers  more of your nail which I think is amazing as I find it is quicker to paint my nails using this brush compared to others.

4. Claire's Chip Resistant Nail polish
These nail polishes are £2.50 and are really good quality for such a cheap price. I never hear anybody talking about them online but I don't understand why because I think they are amazing, especially for their price. I can't find a name on the bottle for the colour but I have a light purple shade and a blue glitter nail polish. However I have just looked on the website and it appears that since I have bought these nail polishes, Claire's have updated their packaging for their nail polishes. I love the new packaging and some of their new colours look really pretty! I may have to go and buy some in the next few days...

5. Avon Nailwear Pro+
I love these nail polishes. They don't chip easily and they only need 2 coats! I have 9 of these nail polishes in the shades; Cherry jubilee, Pastel pink, Coral reef, Sunshine, Tweed, Ocean blue, Viva pink, Golden vision and Beach linen.

I think I might start a series of 'Top 5 ....' with different beauty items, so things like lipsticks, eyeshadows, moisturisers etc. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments or tweet me @makingufeelbest . Ooh also I have made an instagram account! If you would like to follow me, my name is @makingmefeelbest .

July Favourites

Hi :)

We have just entered the month of August, so I thought I would share with you my July favourites.

1. VO5 Give Me Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner
I started to use this combination on my hair at the start of July and I have really noticed a difference in the condition of my hair. The ends of my hair feel a lot less dry and my hair just looks healthier. I really recommend these products especially as they are only £3.99 each.

2. Argan Oil Hair Treatment
I have also been using this oil on the ends of my hair. This has made the tips of my hair really soft and much healthier. Unfortunately I don't know how much it is or where it is from because my Mum gave it to me. However I think it is really easy to find argan oil hair treatments either in Boots or supermarkets.

3. Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream for oily skin
This may not count as a July favourite as I have been loving this for a long time now however this is my first monthly favourites so I assumed it would be ok to put it in... This BB cream stays on my face all day even if I have PE at school which is amazing! It also blends really well and covers most of my imperfections. It is £6.99 and I really recommend it especially for summer when you want something lighter than a foundation.

4. Avon Nail Art Press On Nails
This is a new product which has been released in the Avon catalogue this month and has very quickly become one of my summer essentials. They are much easier to apply than fake nails where you have to stick them on with glue because you just peel a thin layer of plastic off the back of the nail and then stick it on to one of your fingernails. Also, you get 24 in a pack and they last for a few days before any fall off. I think I bought them for £5 however I think this was an introductory offer and that they will normally be £9.

5. Topshop's Joni Jeans
£36. Yes, they are expensive. Yes, there are other jeans out there that are a lot cheaper. And I have always told myself this when I have ever thought about buying them. However in July I managed to persuade myself that I needed them. I am so glad that I bought them because they are the best jeans that I have ever owned. They fit me so well which is amazing because usually jeans are either too short or too baggy on me but these jeans fit perfectly. Also they are high waisted which I love and... they are just so comfortable!

6. Fifth Harmony
I have recently started to love Fifth harmony and their music. I especially love their songs 'Sledgehammer' and 'Brave Honest Beautiful'.

7. Charity Vance
I have also started to listen to Charity Vance's music. I discovered her music through watching youtube videos and I love her voice. The two songs which I am obsessed with are 'Picture Perfect' and 'It's Alright'.

Let me know in the comments what your favourites are this month! :)

Boots vs Superdrug

Hi :)

As you all know, I love trying new beauty products. However, in the UK there is not one main shop which people think of when they think 'beauty'. There are two. Boots and Superdrug. In this post I thought I would compare the two and let you know which I think is the best.

Both stores have a reward system. When you spend a certain amount of money, you get a certain amount of points. On both systems, 1 point equals 1 penny. After a while, these points add up and you can buy products from the shop with your points. However Boots gives you more points for the money you spend, they give you 4 points for every pound you spend whereas Superdrug give you 1 point for every pound you spend. Therefore it is much easier to get free products with a Boots advantage card compared to a Superdrug Health and Beauty card.

Now, this may just be the Boots and Superdrug that I go to, but Boots seems to have more of a range of different products. By this, I mean it has things like designer sunglasses, a holiday section and glasses as well as the typical things like make up and skincare. However in Superdrug they don't have these things. As I said this may just be the stores I go to, or are superdrug stores generally smaller than boots stores?

This kind of links to my previous point but Boots also seem to have more high end brands. For example Benefit, Smashbox, Chanel. Whereas Superdrug seem to have a bigger range of high street brands. For example MUA, Make Up Revolution.

Overall, I prefer Boots. This may be because I have a bigger Boots near me compared to the closest Superdrug to me or it may just be because I love getting free things and the Boot advantage card allows me to do this more often! Let me know which is you prefer in the comments below.

Palette Collection

Hi :)

I love collecting eyeshadow palettes. As I typed that, I inwardly cringed because I only have a few palettes! However, this is because I manage to persuade myself whilst I am shopping in Boots or Superdrug that I don't need them and that I need to use my other palettes more before I can justify buying more. Saying this, I still want to share with you the palettes that I do own and what I think of them :).

The smallest palette I own is a quad from Avon in the colour 'Stone Taupes'. I love the shades in this as well as the fact that the colours are numbered therefore showing you which shade to apply first. It also has a mirror so it is amazing for travel especially as it is so small.

I own one palette from MUA which has 12 shades and is called 'Heaven and Earth'. I like the nearly all of the shades in this palette however I think compared to some other eyeshadows, they need a lot more product to be applied to get the same effect. As the price of these palettes are £4, you expect them to not be as good as palettes like Urban Decay or Too faced. For the price, I think they are amazing and you can still get a really nice look with the shades but it just takes a little longer. It would be great if you are just getting in to make up because it is really cheap!

I have one palette from Sleek which also has 12 shades and is called 'Storm'. I like most of these shades however I don't think I would use the green and blue colours because I love neutrals and blues and greens go a bit out of my comfort zone. I think this palette is a good all round palette and would be great if you wanted to start getting in to make up, especially as it is only £7.99.

The biggest palette I own is the 100-piece eyeshadow palette from Elf. It has a huge range of colours and I think when I bought it, it was on offer for £5 which was a total bargain! It has so many beautiful colours in and some more 'out-there' colours for when you are experimenting or feeling brave. However as it is so big it is not the best for travel! I would recommend this product if you like to experiment or you like doing make up on others.

My final palette is Urban Decay's Naked 2. I was given this as a present by two of my friends. I love all of the shades in this palette and I love the brush which comes with it. Usually the applicators which come with eyeshadow palettes, I find, are useless however with this I use the brush all of the time. The palette costs £38 so it is not cheap but if you love make up and can afford it, then I really recommend it as the eyeshadows are amazing. I think this is the best palette for colour pay-off.

Current make up routine

Hi :)

I wanted to share my current make up routine with you guys. This blog is about what makes me feel best and even though I do go out without make up on when I want to, I still love to use make up and to experiment with it.

Currently I am in love with Maybelline's BB cream for oily skin. I have quite oily skin and I have some spots but I don't really want to wear foundation everyday to school. I think this BB cream covers well and it doesn't come off of my face until I wash it off in the evenings which is a definite 'need' for me with a BB cream/foundation. I put this on my face using Real Technique's Expert Face Brush. I love this brush but I think I would like a bigger brush to apply my BB cream with so if anyone has any recommendations please leave them in the comments :).

For under my eyes, I use a concealer from Avon's Extra lasting range in the shade light. To apply this, I use the Expert face brush as well. I set my BB cream and concealer with the Creme puff pressed powder by Max Factor using my Bourjois kabuki brush. I love this powder because it keeps my make up on all day, however I am thinking about buying a new powder brush because even though it does its job really well, I find the bristles to be quite harsh. If anyone has any recommendations please leave them in the comments :).

I contour my face using the Sleek contour kit. I love the bronzer in this as it is matte and doesn't make me look like a disco ball! I use the brush blush from Avon to apply this.

After all of this, I apply the Porefessional primer on my eyelids, ready for my eyeshadow. I am currently loving the Naked 2 palette which my friends gave me for my birthday! I especially love the shades Tease, YDK and Busted. After this, I use the Jemma Kid eyeliner in Black in my water line. I use the Avon Superextend eyeliner for above my lash line. Then to finish the look, I curl my eyelashes and just before applying the Badgal lash mascara by Benefit.

I hope you enjoyed this post :)
